The Kazakhstan Ministerial Session organized by the Ministry of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the National Committee of the World Petroleum Council.
The session was opened by the First Vice Minister of Energy of the Republic of Kazakhstan Murat Zhurebekov with the speech about the “Strategy and prospects for Kazakhstan oil and gas industry development.” He noted that “by 2030 Kazakhstan plans to reach the level of more than 2 million barrels production per day, or more than 100 million tons of oil per year ... and annual gas production will reach about 85 billion m3 and about 15% of renewable energy sources in the total electricity generation.”
Murat Zhurebekov also underscored that the Government of Kazakhstan actively supports and creates a comfortable environment for improving investment attractiveness of the industry by implementing serious reorganizations in the legislation.
Kevin Lyon, General Director of Tengizchevroil (TCO), spoke about the prospects and innovations in Tengizchevroil: “TCO has made tremendous progress on our Digital Transformation journey. It’s very clear to me digitalization has been, and will continue to be, a key enabler for TCO’s business. 2020 marked a significant positive inflection point as we fully integrated digitalization into our TCO operating model. We now have our digital capabilities aligned by value driver to ensure we identify, prioritize and deliver on the highest value opportunities.”.
Dzhambulat Sarsenov, Deputy Chairman of the KAZENERGY Association added: "The Kazakhstan National Committee holds ministerial sessions at WPC congresses on the regular basis. We pay a great attention to communication with WPC member countries, discuss current issues and inform on the development of the oil and gas industry of the Republic of Kazakhstan"
Attendees of session included Heads of Ministries, global oil and gas organizations, members of the national committees of the World Petroleum Council, and energy experts.
