Magzum Myrzagaliyev, the Chairman of the Management Board of JSC NC “KazMunayGas” during his business trip together with Tengizchevroil (TCO) General Director Kevin Lyon, visited the Future Growth Project-Wellhead Pressure Management Project (FGP-WPMP) facilities, including the Third Generation Plant and the Integrated Operations Control Center (IOCC) at Tengiz.
“Tengiz is a strategic asset for KazMunayGas, which significantly impacts the economic development of western Kazakhstan, and indeed the entire country. The timely execution of FGP-WPMP is one of the key tasks for today. In addition, maintaining social stability during the planned large-scale demobilization of personnel in 2022-2023 is very important. We expect TCO and the relevant state and local authorities’ coordinated work on this issue,” the Head of KMG noted.
Currently FGP-WPMP is 93% complete. Once the project is finished, it will increase TCO’s oil production by 12 million tons per year. In addition, since FGP-WPMP inception, more than $14.1 billion dollars has been spent on Kazakhstani goods and services within the project. Most of the remaining work will be done in-country which will help create a positive impact for Kazakhstan’s economy.
Magzum Myrzagaliyev and Kevin Lyon also visited the largest control center in the world - the IOCC, which integrates the management of all TCO’s production plants into one control center. The area of the control room located in the IOCC building is about 2200 sq. m. The center is equipped with 23 control panels.
