Tengizchevroil LLP (TCO) conducted a roundtable with more than 50 Kazakhstani companies who offer maintenance, repair and operations services and supply protective materials. At the roundtable, suppliers learned about the bidding process, the requirements for contractors, and what work and services the company will need in the next few years.
More than 50 companies from different regions of Kazakhstan expressed their desire to participate in the upcoming tender and provide services to Tengizchevroil. The roundtable was the next in the list of forums to align Kazakhstani companies with the requirements of the global market for oilfield services.
At the roundtable, TCO representatives spoke about upcoming tenders and elaborated on TCO’s materials procurement strategy, as well as explained the requirements for contractors and gave recommendations on how to submit a tender application.
- A key aspect of TCO’s Kazakhstani content development strategy is working with current and potential suppliers to ensure they understand the international standards for quality and safety in order to do business in the oil and gas industry. TCO has a proven and effective supplier development program that has successfully introduced new suppliers into the company’s supply base, - said Gubasheva Leila, Operational Procurement Manager at TCO.
TCO focuses on increasing and developing Kazakhstani content share in works, goods, and services, as well as constantly developing the capabilities of local producers, local content in manufacturing, and involving local suppliers in its projects. TCO expects the same approach from its potential suppliers.
- Our suppliers must work continuously to increase Kazakhstani content and leverage existing capacities and capabilities of Kazakhstani companies. This can be achieved by creating joint ventures with Kazakhstani manufacturers, giving an edge to local suppliers of goods and services, and by transferring technology and boosting local content in production within Kazakhstan, - says Zholdybayev Daniel, Kazakhstani Content Development Director at Tengizchevroil LLP.
It is worth noting that in 2022 TCO, achieved the highest percentage share of procurement of Kazakhstani goods and services in last 6 years. Most of these payments are related to the Future Growth Project and Wellhead Pressure Management Project. Since 1993 TCO has made more than $176 billion in direct financial payments to the Republic of Kazakhstan, including more than $43.6 billion in payments for local goods and services.
